Erwan De Brugiere

As part of the blog "Conscious People" by Venitz, we interview the actors of the green transition to find out more about the behind their commitments. Today, here is the story of Erwan de Brugiere.

Hello everyone, I am Erwan the co-founder of the Oskol skincare brand. With my wife Flora, doctor of pharmacy, we wanted to return to the fundamentals of beauty by consuming less, but better. In the era of “French Clean Beauty”, we, lovers of the sea and passionate about cosmetics, are reintroducing sensoriality and emotion in natural, responsible care, good for the skin and good for the oceans.

Today, I dedicate a large part of my daily life to promoting Oskol and the brand's values. In fact, we use raw materials sourced a few tens or hundreds of kilometers from our laboratory. We reduce the use of plastic to the strict minimum. We do not use any single-use plastics. We integrate as many organic plants as possible into our formulas, even the scent of our treatments is ORGANIC!
So less plastic, less pesticide, but also recycled cardboard, glass, vegetable inks, everything must be compostable, recyclable, biodegradable! We also allocate 1% of our turnover to the protection of the Oceans.

My eco-responsible commitment, and my awareness: As a lover of the ocean, I have been surfing for over 20 years. It's a moment of relaxation, of communion with the sea! Since my childhood this environment has been extremely polluted, I wanted to do my part. Faced with this problem which is beyond our control, we have developed responsible and committed products. Obviously we are absolutely not going to solve the problem, but it is collective action that will improve this situation.

In this sense, I am engaged with our community. Since 2020, we have organized several beach cleanings on the Basque coast, and in the Paris region we participate in "clean walks".

Our simple gesture! I like to think that together we can go further. So if I had to give advice: Collect and sort the waste you come across. On the beach, in nature, in the mountains or in the city! Waste, if not collected, will inevitably end up in the sea.

However, adopting a more ethical and responsible lifestyle is not a linear process! Despite all the daily efforts! Recently I carried out my personal carbon assessment… and it is bad! I consume three times too much! I advise you to take the test (10 minutes). It's very informative! We see concretely what is weighing us down, and we must try to improve it.
